Fruit Cravings - A Sign of Having a Baby Girl?

Someone told me that I am having a baby girl because I crave much on fruits!

While hubby's family wanted to have a baby girl, for the reason being that I tend to feel tired quickly and more often. Whichever of these theories are true or not, we just have to wait until I have my next ultrasound..

My cravings is pretty much changing every single week! But luckily, I don't crave for junk foods, chocolates, cakes, etc. I have been craving for various fruits like mad since I learned I was pregnant, though changes every week!

During my first few weeks of pregnancy, I was eating GREEN APPLES at least 2 in the mornings and another 2 in the afternoons! Mind you hubby was craving of apples for me too, please read "Hubby Have Some Cravings For Me". It went on for at least 3 weeks, then I was admitted at the hospital for 11 days and all I wanted during those periods were BANANAS AND APPLE MANGOES. It also went for 3 weeks, though I love so much eating CEREALS in the mornings with bananas. However, I don't eat green apples anymore! Weird isn't it? The moment I finished with one fruit, I feel sick every time I think about it.

When we first arrived here in the UK, I remember that first fruits I was looking for were ORANGES and GREEN GRAPES plus YOGHURTS, and I had to eat some of Alfie's oranges and his deserts. Poor little boy, but at least my mother-in-law has been very considerate of offering me what I'd wanted to eat, and we had to buy a packet of green grapes every day! It went on for only few days, and right after I changed to PINEAPPLES, KIWIS and TINNED JACKFRUITS, while it only lasted for a week! Week after that was STRAWBERRYS with ICE CREAM...

You'll probably going to ask me now, what I have been craving at the moment? It has changed again I tell you. I am now been having GREEN SWEET MANGOES (imported from Brazil), yummy.. In fact, I always have two every day, and this has already been on since two weeks ago.

By the way, when I said FRUIT CRAVINGS - this is eating in between meals, in short, my snacks!

What to eat on big meals depends on my taste as well. When I ask hubby what does he fancy for lunch or dinner, he always ask me back what do I fancy...

Excite naku nimo madz. I am so happy to know about your pregnancy.

Fruits is very good for craving. When I got pregnant to Solaris. I love to eat all different kinds of fruits. I ate one pint of strawberries and blue berries at night. I love water melon and I love chocolate with cream on top of it..

But If you're craving for banana. And if you don't like sweet stuff. then it's gonna be boy.

Baby girl love sweet stuff.

wow, i didn't know you're pregnant. congratulations sis! how far along are you now? gosh, that little baby inside you must be very special! :)

as for the craving thing, i think going for fruits is not a sign that the baby will be a girl. i used to have a very severe morning sickness w/ my little girl's pregnancy. i was always so tired and weary, couldn't sleep. but more than that, i craved for vegetables, esp. camote tops made into salad. kaso wala talaga dito eh. eating some apples and bananas became a force to me because i never liked them. :D what i liked eating over and over again was crispy chicken burger from Mcdo. lolz

well, i hope you have a smooth pregnancy till child birth! take an extra care!

i don't think craving for certain foods will determine the gender of the bay; i don't have any craving when I got pregnant with my son and daughter. i think you can determine if it is a boy/girl when your tummy started showing up really! Kung mataas o mababa ang tummy mo.

I don't think so either. I love fruits regardless if I am pregnant or not! I don't think there's a way in telling what your baby's gender other than seeing it in ultrasound. The first time when i was pregnant they all thought I was having a girl coz I'm always light, wears light colors but it turned out to be a boy. The second one was just sick all the time as in puking all the time i was craving for subway lol!Eat subway subs every chance I can get and I love fruits pa gihapon.parehas traman tanan sa akoa day mahilig man gihapoon ko fruits sa tanan mabdos ko. bisan unsa fruits ma sweet or sour i love eating it. But the weird thing is that i always know what the gender of my babies regardless what other people said. I knew that I was going to have a boy in my first and even in my second and the 3rd pregancy i knew it was a girl. I never wanted to have a girl for eldest so I wasn't even considering listening to peopel who were saying na babaye akong anak permiro! I always knew feeling lang ba even before going to get my ultrasound! excited na ko nimo madame dahh:)

Well, it's really hard to tell if your having a boy or a girl through cravings for anything. I had 2 boys before I had my first daughter, and since I was longing for a baby girl, the moment I learned I was pregnant, I was already hoping for a girl. My pregnancy with Wrozlie was the worst ever. I was sick the whole 1st trimester. I still cannot believe that she's a girl even with numerous Ultrasounds. Everytime I see her on the monitor, it showed pepe hehehe. Finally I was able to believe.
Being tired and exhausted is part of your condition. Cravings for different kind of food is also a hormonal thing. Just don't eat too much so that the baby doesn't grow so big. You can make it big once it is born. My youngest was born 9.2 lbs. she was induced coz I don't like CS, and all my kids were born normal deliveries, from 4.4, 7.13, 8.3 and 9.2 consecutively. They kept getting bigger and bigger, so I had to stop and I had my tube tied when Alex was born, I cannot have a 10- lb. baby, hahaha!

Great post though. I bet you are so excited, you and your hubby with your family.. Take care.
